Nora Jeanette Dishion-Erevia

January 15, 1955-September 16, 2024

Nora was born on January 15, 1955 to Richard “Dick” Dishion and Zena Josephine Pinkham in Lewiston, Idaho. She was an enrolled member of the Nez Perce Tribe. Her nimiipuu name was Ciciiciyeliin. She attended school and graduated from Stanfield High School in 1973. She often spoke of her time playing softball, saying that was her sport. After graduating she worked at a potato factory in Oregon. During that time, Nora met Jesus Erevia and they later married. They had three daughters. After the relationship ended, she moved back home to Lapwai, Idaho.

Nora worked at various places, such as Blount, now known as ATK, the Clearwater River Casino, and Northwest Indian College. She also returned to school and graduated with a bachelor’s degree at the age of 66.

Nora was a huge Lapwai Wildcats fan and was often at the games in “her spot.” She also loved attending pow-wows, traveling, going to the movies, and playing bingo. Nora also enjoyed beading. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Nora would always boss her children and grandchildren around by making them decorate her house and yard. She was always buying new blow-ups and decorations for her yard.

Nora was also the best cook and baker. Everyone always looked forward to her banana bread, yeast rolls, sugar cookies, and her famous deviled eggs. Her greatest joy, however were her daughters, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her absolute favorite of times was spending it with family. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and supporting their cultural activities, such as hunting, fishing, and dancing at pow-wows.

Nora is survived by her children Jessica (Dom) Higheagle, Angel (Mike) Moreno, LaTasha Dishion (Brandon Bisbee), Laloni Aytch, and Raneisha (Duke) Running. Grandchildren Sierra Higheagle (Chris Jones), Nico Higheagle (Lautiss Shebala), Miguel (Maya) Moreno, Heewekse Wisdom, Sonny Wisdom, Davyauhna Gonzales, Anjalicia Gonzales, Arreis Bisbee (Jessica Huynh), Kalijya Harley, Alexah Moreno, Keionna Aytch, Jaicee Moreno, Karvehl Bisbee, Haven Bisbee, Kassidi Aytch, and Kalonte King. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Easton Higheagle, Teyonni Higheagle, Matten Moreno, Lelah Jones, Jaden Gonzales, and Timani Higheagle. Sisters Kimberly Hyatt and Ronda Spaulding. Her aunts Vina Harrison and Roxanne Bub Pierre. She also had numerous close family, such Mike Hayes, Eva Higheagle and their children Fianna, Winter, Micaiah (Ty’Air), and Farrell. Nieces Jessica James and Mary James (Leotis McCormack) and all who knew and loved her.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Carvel Dishion, Bob Lewis and, sister Serena Dishion. Her paternal grandparents Richard and Hilda Zehner Dishion, maternal grandparents Sarah Harrison Lawyer and Joseph Pinkham. Great grandparents Louie Harrison and Nora McFarland Harrison, aunt Serena Harrison Broncheau, and uncle David Mac Harrison and grandson Malique Higheagle.

Dressing will be on Thursday September 19th at Malcolm Brower-Wann Funeral Home at 2 pm with Wahlusut services following at 6 pm at the Pineewaus. Burial will be on Friday September 20th after final Wahlusut songs at Jonah Cemetery. Dinner to follow at the Pineewaus.
