Denise Dawn Gregg

Denise Dawn Gregg was born in Lewiston, Idaho to Dennis Gregg and Valorie Wapsheli on August 7th ,1990. Denise would join her older sister, Nancy Mae at the family home in Lapwai. Denise passed away tragically from a pedestrian-motor vehicle collision on September 4th, 2024 in Austin, Texas.

Denise was an enrolled Nez Perce and called Lapwai, Idaho home. She attended Nez Perce Tribe Head Start and Lapwai schools. She was the light and soul of the room wherever she went, she was niimiipuu to her core. Sporting the tattoo on her arm, she was very proud of her lineage.

She was a loyal friend to so many people and loved just as hard as everyone loved her. Her smile radiated sunshine anywhere she went, she loved to travel and she could make friends everywhere. Denise loved basketball, getting dressed up and hanging out with her favorite people and so much more. There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful she was. She could make anyone laugh. Denise loved her children more than anything in the world. Her big sister Nancy was her best friend.

Denise is proceeded in death by her paternal great grandparents, Corbett Miller and Matilda Scott, paternal grandparents, Phyllis Miller Gregg and John Gregg, maternal great grandparents Nancy Hoyt George and Willie Wapsheli, John Tababoo and Elizabeth Broncheau Tababoo, maternal grandparents Archie J. Wapsheli and Jane Tababoo, Mother Valorie Wapsheli, Aunt Arlene. Uncles Seymore, John, Bill, Willard, Gibson and Arnie.

She is survived by her beautiful children Xandre and Armahni and her Father Dennis Gregg, her Mom Diane, her sisters Nancy, Nicole and Lesa. Her brother Travis. Nieces Valorie, Cierra, Calah, Shi, Jessalynn. Nephews Juan, MiQlo, Travis, Geoffrey. Great niece Alaya and Great nephews Mateo, Nakoah, and Maverick. Her extended surviving family including her Aunt Martina K White, Beverly Paul, Christine Bann Nanpooya, Couisns Johanna Halsey, Rosalena White + Family, Latisha Black, Jaleel Black, Mike Paul, John Paul, Harold Paul Steven, Harmony Paul, Deanna Paul, Debbie & Steve Boles, Lena,Tika,Tiwana,Stevie

Debbie and Moises Gonzalez-White, Talia Alex, Moi, Tina Ann White, Lillie, Crystal Anotinio,Tyrone and Tiana Matt Family, Edna, Marla and Betty and many more.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held at the PiNeeWaus Community Center in Lapwai, Idaho on Saturday, October 5 at 3:00 pm.

Her final resting place will be Webb Cemetery at a later date.
