Nimiipuu Health hosted the 2025 Color Walk in Lapwai to celebrate LGBTQ2S+ pride and promote community wellness with colorful activities and connection.
Moccasin Flats Trading Post celebrated 20 years in Lapwai with a community gathering hosted by the ’Itám’yanaáwit Program, featuring remarks, small business highlights, and door prizes.
On June 23, the Nez Perce Education Department hosted a powerful storytelling event at Lapwai High School, where Otis Halfmoon shared Nez Perce oral histories from the War of 1877. The presentation emphasized the responsibility to carry these cultural memories forward.
The Communications Department participated in the McCall Airport Open House on June 21, 2025, an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII. The team engaged with visitors through informational displays and shared resources alongside aviation exhibits and family-friendly activities.
Fisheries staff were featured during the May 28, 2025, RAC Grant Student Release Event, where they led hands-on learning stations and shared Nez Perce cultural teachings with participating students.
Fifteen participants were recognized on April 7, 2025, for completing the Nez Perce Tribe’s TERO/TYAP Heavy Highway Construction Trades Academy, earning certifications in equipment operation, safety, and construction readiness.

Trish Wicks was honored on April 1, 2025, for her dedicated service to the Nez Perce Tribe Finance Department. Staff gathered to celebrate her retirement and express appreciation.
The Nez Perce Tribe and the United Methodist Church gathered on to commemorate the return of the historic Lapwai church property. The Land Return Celebration included speakers, songs, prayer, and a fellowship meal, honoring the site’s legacy and future.
On March 20, 2025, Nez Perce elder W. Otis Halfmoon presented on the importance of including tribal voices in the telling of Nez Perce history as part of Native American Awareness Week at LCSC.
