Virginia Scott

Virginia “Gin” Scott, a member of the Nez Perce Tribe, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children and family. Virginia was born July 23, 1977 at Lewiston, Idaho to David “Di Di” Scott and Ronda Spaulding.

Virginia graduated from Lapwai High School in 1995. After graduating she chose to be a stay-at-home mom. After the kids got older she decided to work. Her various jobs were the Clearwater River Casino, Lapwai Early Headstart, Nez Perce Express, and last employment  was working for the Nimiipuu Health Optometry.  Which she loved and enjoyed. Gin enjoyed being active. She had to be doing something, whether it was camping, or going to the movies. Her hobbies were gathering, crochet, attending sweat lodge and going to the beach. She always wanted to be surrounded by family.

Virginia met Shawn Wheeler and had four beautiful children; Ashley, Xavier, Quanah, Keanon and accepted Shawn’ oldest son Jordan Wheeler as her own.

Virginia is survived by her parents; Ronda Spaulding and Steve Guzman, David & Yvonne Scott, siblings; Christie Lussoro and Hattie Brown (Randy Brown), children; Jordan, Ashley, Xavier, Quanah, Keanon, grandchildren; Seton, Quanah, Chance, Akira, Elena, Brayla, Titus, Xavier, Jr. and many aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents; Lyman ‘Scoop” and Clara Scott. Maternal grandparents; Wilbur “Caucy” Spaulding and Virginia Lawyer. And her other beloved family members.

Tuesday September 9, 2025: Meet at Malcolm’s @ 5pm to escort the family to Pi-nee-Waus.

Memorial service: Tuesday September 9th @ 7pm at Pineewaus Community Center

Funeral Services: Wednesday, September 10th at 9:00 at Pineewaus Community Center

Burial to follow at Tribal Cemetery.

Dinner to follow at Pineewaus Center – Lapwai, ID
