Lorena June Marsh-Talbot was born May 11th, 1979 to Doug and Lorna Marsh. She lives the first few tender years of her life at the family home in Kooskia, Idaho. In 1983 she and her family moved to Lewiston, Idaho. She attended Webster Elementary school, Jennifer Junior high school, and then graduated from Lewiston High School in 1997. Lorena had a passion for music and signing. While in high school she had several opportunities to showcase her lovely voice. She was a member of the Golden Voices and was given the esteemed honor of being part of the National Choir. During her time with the choir she toured Europe one summer and had the incredible opportunity of singing a solo in the world renowned Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France! She went on to study music at the University of Idaho.
Lorena went on to marry Mr. Shain Dammon on June 8th, 2002. They had two lovely children, Mya and Mason. Unfortunately, that marriage ended. She went on to remarry Mr. Dennis “Sonny” Talbot on August 1st, 2020. They went on to make their home in Moses Lake, Washington.
Lorena was a member of the Umatilla Tribe and reigned as the Second Miss Nez Perce Appaloosa. She was able to perform the National Anthem at both the Lewiston Roundup and Pendleton Roundup. She was an avid fisherman who loved to wrestle Steelhead out of the Clearwater River. Getting outside in the woods, adventuring with her husband Sonny and her children, was her passion. She was a marvel at making beautiful pieces of art using Diamond Painting. She had a passion for helping others and her smile could brighten even the darkest carven of a person’s heart.
Lorena is survived by her husband, Dennis “Sonny” Talbot; her children Mya and Mason of Lewiston, Idaho; her stepchildren Dennis, Naomi, Rachel, and Aitan; her father Doug Marsh of Lewiston. She is preceded in death by her mother Lorna Marsh.
Services will take place Sunday, June 23rd, at Trenary Funeral Home at 10 am. with Elder Jeannie Wheeler presiding. The burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Kooskia, Idaho. A dinner and giveaway will follow at the Stites Long House.
