Dale Melvin Calkins

Dale Calkins, 70, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at his Lewiston home of natural causes. He was born June 4, 1953, in Clarkston, to Melvin and Peggy (White) Calkins.

Dale grew up in Lapwai and graduated from Lapwai High School in 1971. He later moved to Lewiston and worked for Potlatch Corporation.

Dale enjoyed hanging out with friends, playing pool and darts and singing karaoke.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Peggy Calkins, and his life partner Anna Andrews.

He survived by his children Catrina Tinney, Tanya Wassmuth, Tosha Whitney and Melvin Calkins, all of Lewiston; sisters Cae (Chuck) Halstead, Lapwai; Barb (Samie) McClain, Lapwai; Jill Wilks, Lapwai, and Tracey (Jay) Blake, Orofino; brothers Shawn Calkins, Lapwai; Danny Calkins, Clarkston; Kelly Calkins, Lapwai; Alan Calkins, Lapwai. Jim Calkins, Lapwai; Leonard (Brinda) Calkins, Lapwai, and numerous grandkids and great-grandkids.
