Strengthening Families Through Culture: Annual Mini Powwow

The Nez Perce Tribe Child Support Enforcement Program, in collaboration with Mamayasnim Hiteemenwees, hosted its Annual Mini Powwow on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pineewaus Community Center.

The evening brought families and community members together to celebrate Nez Perce culture through song, dance, and shared meals. Attendees enjoyed food and beverages while taking part in powwow activities, including a lively potato dance and an exhibition dance that highlighted the importance and beauty of cultural expression.

Events like the Annual Mini Powwow play a vital role in ensuring that Nez Perce children are able to see, learn, and actively participate in their cultural traditions from an early age. Creating these opportunities helps strengthen cultural identity, community connection, and intergenerational learning.

The Nez Perce Tribe Child Support Enforcement Program and Mamayasnim Hiteemenwees look forward to hosting future powwows and encourage everyone to attend. These events are free and are often open to the public, welcoming all who wish to learn, participate, and celebrate together.
