Health Screening Event at Pi-Nee-Waus Community Center

Health screenings, wellness education, and support services were provided to the community at Pi-Nee-Waus Community Center on April 3, 2025.

On April 3, 2025, the Nez Perce Tribe hosted a free Health Screening Event at the Pi-Nee-Waus Community Center in Lapwai. The event welcomed community members to receive services, no appointment required.

Attendees had access to a variety of on-site screenings, education stations, and wellness supplies. Services included:

  • Memory care assessments
  • Dementia education
  • Vital sign checks
  • Diabetic information and supplies
  • HIV and Hepatitis C testing
  • Sexual health education
  • Fit & Fall Proof prevention
  • Fall risk assessments
  • Opioid education and naloxone kits
  • Medication lock boxes
  • Hygiene packs
  • Water and snacks

These assessments were provided to individuals 18 and older. Partner agencies, including Nimiipuu Health, CHAS, NIAC, Action Center, and others, staffed booths and mobile units offering information and supportive resources.
