On June 24, 2025, the Nez Perce Tribal Executive Committee (NPTEC) held its special meeting at Asaamxpa in Joseph, Oregon—marking a historic return to conduct official business on ancestral homelands.
NPTEC welcomed leadership from the City of Joseph, the Wallowa City Council, and Wallowa County for conversation centered on future planning and goals that look ahead to the needs of coming generations.
The gathering was powerful and deeply meaningful, offering space to honor the past while opening dialogue for the future.
