George White Eagle was born April 1, 1954, in Seattle, Washington, and passed away October 9, 2025 at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino, Idaho. George grew up in the Seattle area and attended school at White Center Heights, Cascade Junior High, Evergreen High School, Chemawa Indian School in Salem Oregon, then joined the United States Marines. As an adult, George lived in Ahsahka and Kamiah, Idaho, while working for the Army Corps of Engineers, then for the United States Forest Service where he retired.
George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and embracing his culture while dancing traditional and round bustle, honoring those who had come before him. He also enjoyed sports, going to the casino, and he loved his dogs dearly.
George spent summers on his maternal grandparent’s ranch in Kamiah, Idaho where he engaged with his aunties, uncles and numerous cousins.
George is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward Hayes; Maternal grandmother, Rose McConville Hayes; Paternal grandfather, Frank White Eagle; Paternal grandmother Agnes Winnier White Eagle; Father, Ted White Eagle; Mother, Helen Nora Hayes White Eagle; Brother, Charles Edward White Eagle; Robert White Eagle, and the love of his life, Regina.
George is survived by his brother, Theodore White Eagle (Virginia); Larry White Eagle (Pam); Sister Mariann White Eagle; Nephew, Wayde White Eagle (Michele); Niece, Victoria White Eagle Hahn (Mike); and nephew, Bryan White Eagle, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be determined for a later date.
