Nez Perce Tribe Forestry and Fire Management Remove Fallen Tree at Spalding Park Cemetery

SPALDING, Idaho — The Nez Perce Tribe extends appreciation to the Forestry and Fire Management Departments for their careful work and successful removal of a large fallen tree at Spalding Park Cemetery.

The tree—estimated to be approximately 120 years old—fell near gravestones just one day before a major windstorm moved through the area. Fortunately, the tree missed the headstones, and no damage to gravestones was reported.

Following an on-site assessment, Forestry and Fire Management staff coordinated a removal operation using care, precaution, and respect for the cemetery grounds. The tree was removed safely and successfully without further impact to the area.

The Nez Perce Tribe recognizes the professionalism and attention to detail demonstrated by the crews involved. Their work helps protect community spaces and ensures important areas like Spalding Park Cemetery remain safe and preserved.

Great job to the team for a successful removal. Your hard work does not go unnoticed.
